As a Mets fan, and someone that realized Mike Piazza needed to be a DH as opposed to catching, I think the Athletics made a good signing.
Piazza is not someone you want behind the plate at this point in his career, unless it is definitely needed. So, him DH'ing only helps him, making it less likely that he will injure himself. Piazza is certainly not the player he once was, but he is still a threat at the plate. He should be a nice addition to the Athletics offense.
