I'd be shocked if Schmidt took a deal that cheaply. Primarily because of all the mediocre pitchers that are getting 10-11 million per year, and Schmidt is NOT mediocre.
Schmidt is probably the second best pitcher on the free agent market this year (next to Zito). If Walt gets him for that low of an amount then I will agree to name my first born after him (with the middle name being tulcard
