no... with player unions.... it is NOT inevitable... you severely underestimate the power that the players and player unions have... contraction was put out there for shock value, but it was not going to happen

Sooner or later, the teams and owners will realize that they cannot stand on their own... that NFL style sharing and spending limitations helps ALL involved and leads to an even more prosperous league, meaning increased revenue for all, not just the 'small markets'
