Fiddling with the Lineup
OK, granted, Todd Helton came thru today, even though we lost to the Braves, with a few singles and a couple RBIs. He still is stuck on 9 home runs and is only the shadow of his former self, a very old 33, the new Mark Grace as it were.
Platooning was started by who, Yogi? Or made popular during Yogi's time by Casey Stengel.
Why not platoon the lineups? I mean do it more radically than it's done right now by Clint.
Lefty Lineup v. the righty pitcher:
1.Taveras CF
2. Matsui 2B
3. Holliday LF
4. Hawpe RF
5. Helton 1B
6. Atkins 3B
7. Tulo SS
8. Torrealba C
The Righty lineup vs. the lefty hurler:
1. Willy T CF
2. Carroll 2B
3. Holliday CF
4. ATkins 3B
5. Spilly RF
6. Helton 1B
7. Tulo SS
8. Torrealba C
Is Todd going to put up a fuss by being dropped in the lineup? Should Baker play 1B against lefties, get him more ABs? Not even sure what Helton's splits are against lefties. Can't be that good this past 30 days I'm sure.
