You better be a Met, or a Yankee/Red Sox. The first release of the All-Star Balloting is out and it shouldn’t be a surprise but the NL leading Mets dominate the voting. The three highest vote getters so far are Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes and David Wright. Fourth in voting is the sluggish Cardinal, Albert Pujols. Surprising to me is that Barry Bonds is getting a lot of support so far. Ken Griffey Jr’s comeback is fueling his fourth place finish in the Outfield as well.

As I submit in this thread, the early vote isn’t awful, but while each of the leaders is among the best at their position, they aren’t the premier talent. The AL is much worse as many positions are lead by players who aren’t top three in their position. It is also obvious from the voting results that the internet votes have yet to be counted.
